As a school photographer I’m always looking
for ways to strength my relationship with my schools.
In many cases, my competition is the large school photographers that
offer yearbooks in addition to the photography. For many schools they
like the convenience of dealing with one company.
In working with Embassy Digital, I found a way
to compete with the big guys, develop a better relationship with
my schools and earn additional income. I’m now able to market the CYS yearbook brand in conjunction
with my own company. The schools like the fact that I’ve partnered
with an experienced yearbook publisher while I provide the personal
service throughout the process.
Another benefit has been that for new schools that
have a photographer already in place, I’ve been able to get in the school by offering
yearbooks. Through the yearbooks, I’ve been able to bid on the
photography.
The support has also been great. All the marketing materials, samples,
yearbook production kits, telephone support, invoicing and collections
are provided by CYS. All I need to do is determine the profit mark
up and once the payments are collected I receive payment from CYS.
In the past I’ve looked at establishing relationships
with commercial printers and coordinating the artwork, proofing,
and printing, but I found that it was too difficult. The first problem
was that the printers did not know the yearbook business and the
second was that I did not have enough money or expertise to create
the necessary infrastructure.
Embassy / CYS are a terrific partner. I would recommend their services
to anyone who is in a similar business to mine. They have given me a
competitive advantage and added to my income. |
